September 9, 2013, 10:14pm, Ebenezer Villa, Hereford College, I am in my room after the day’s work. I am so excited that I pick up my pen to write in my beloved notebook where I write all of my articles and things that are dear to me, even people. Before I continue, I must tell you that today is a Monday. This means that I have been up since 7am, the day has been busy and at this time that I am writing, my feet are burning since I have had them in my shoes for the last 15 hours. Therefore, let me take off my shoes, change my clothes and then begin to write.
For me the high point of Monday is always the last activity in which I partake. It is called Monday Night Live. It is not a TV series like Saturday Night Live. It is a program; the general gathering of the members (non-member, first timers are also included. In other words, everyone is welcome) of the Chi-Alpha Christian Fellowship to worship God. Chi-Alpha means Christ Ambassadors (christou apostoloi in greek) and is derived from 2 Corinthians 5:20, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God”. It is not a fraternity/sorority. I believe it is not a fraternity/sorority because In Christ, there are no mixtures (sacred and secular) (James 4:4 , Revelation 3:16) and as Tetaun Moffet always says “Jesus Christ is either lord of all or not at all, he stands alone and is neither one of many ways to God nor one of many gods”. Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Before I continue speaking about Chi Alpha, I find it necessary to give a brief history of how I became part of this Christian organization. Continue reading
